The GFC SENtaurs play their first tournament of the season this weekend
This Sunday, 29 September, our Gillingham FC SENtaurs will be taking part in their first tournament of the season. Each month, the GFC SENtaurs participate in a round robin tournament of eight games against a selection of teams from around Kent. Our U-11’s team finished strongly last season and are hoping to push for top spot this season, after spending their training sessions working on a mixture of passing and positioning drills.
Our new-look U-15’s are hoping to start the campaign with some new players and welcome Dan Small, who will join Nick Lovell at the helm, supporting their efforts. Competing in the seven-a-side league, the U-15’s will face the bigger challenge of a larger pitch, more players and a need to understand the new positions that this requires.
Our U-13’s are hoping to boost their squad, to help them compete within their league, and have been working hard over the past few weeks to build on their experiences in the league last year.
Coach Kimi Bolden commended the work of the players by stating “I am thrilled to have joined such a hard working and keen group of players who are improving every time I see them. They have faced many changes recently including moving to our new training facilities at Medway Park and welcoming myself and Dan to their team.”
“We are still looking to expand our squads to ensure we can get as many children involved with this fantastic league, and encourage new players to come and try it for themselves.”
