Jonny Smith's excellent long distance strike against Newport County at Rodney Parade has won the club's "Goal of the Month" competition for September, sponsored by Ability Plus.
Gills fell behind early on in Wales but stormed back, firstly through a Bradley Dack effort before Remeao Hutton's short pass played in Smith who drove into space. With little pressure on him he had space to shoot from 25 yards and guided an excellent left footed effort into the top corner right in front of the travelling supporters.
His goal won more than 93% of the vote and our sponsors, Ability Plus, will conduct a presentation with the player before kick-off this Saturday against Cheltenham Town.
