Morris | "We have got to stick together"

Glenn Morris was left disappointed after Gillingham fell to a narrow 1-0 defeat at Chesterfield on Tuesday night.

The goalkeeper was frustrated as the Gills lost another tight game due to narrow margins, with another set-piece goal proving decisive. However, Morris is keen to look forward to Oldham Athletic's visit to the MEMS Priestfield Stadium on Saturday.

Morris reiterated the need for the squad to stick together as they hope to turn their fortunes around and was appreciative of another fantastic effort from the supporters, with 282 fans making the journey to Derbyshire.

Post-game thoughts...

I am obviously disappointed. We started the game really well, and they sort of scored against the run of play, and it looked like it took the stuffing out of us a little bit. It feels a bit similar to the last few away games, where there hasn't been much in it, and the set plays have decided it, and we have come out on the wrong side of it again, and it is quite hard to take.

All we can do is pick ourselves up and try and get ready for Saturday.

It didn't fall for us. Their goalie hasn't had many saves to make, and we didn't work him enough. I am disappointed to have come away with nothing. I didn't really feel like they created too much either. They had a few at the end, where they hit us on the break when we were trying to push, but it's disappointing for it to be a set play and for us to come away with no points again.

His own game...

I feel good. It's difficult, obviously, losing games is not nice. I feel good, and I feel strong. I feel like I am in a good place, but it doesn't matter as we're losing. It's not about me, it's about us winning.

Sticking together going forward...

We have got to stick together. It is only us that can change it around, and I feel like it could be a bit of luck at one time, and who knows? We could go on a run.

We have to make sure that we stick together as a team, do the basics right, and hopefully come away with the three points [vs Oldham].

Appreciating the supporters...

We thank them. They stuck with us again all night. It was good numbers, and they have been brilliant. Hopefully, we can repay them at home against Oldham.
