Newport County v Gillingham
Sky Bet League Two
Rodney Parade
Saturday September 20, 2025
Kick-Off, 3pm
Team News:
Garath McCleary will serve the final game of his two-match suspension on Saturday. Conor Masterson and Euan Williams will miss the trip to Newport as they continue their recoveries from injury.
Club Captain, Armani Little, has a slight chance of making the journey after picking up a knock during the draw against Bromley. Seb Palmer-Houlden, Shad Ogie and Ethan Coleman are all in contention to feature.

Newport will be without Liam Shephard due to a hamstring injury, while Matt Smith remains out with a back issue.
Manager Comments:
David Hughes - “They're on a good run, they're well organised and they've got experience of the leagues in their squad. We know it's going to be difficult but, as always, we'll focus on ourselves - with respect for the opposition and their strengths - and we'll look to try to nullify their threats and impose ourselves on the game.”
Gareth Ainsworth - “We need to be on it because they've got some good individual players, definitely. The manager is obviously new to League 2 management, and finding his feet. We don't want it to be against us.
“I've said to the boys, ‘Do not rest on anything now’. We're on this. We've got to have the same energy levels and the same commitment that we've had throughout, and we've been working hard on that this week.”
