Manager Comments:

Micky Mellon - "We are looking forward to it. It always is a difficult game when you play teams like Gillingham. If we can take our chances we make them then we'll move on to a difference place."

Gareth Ainsworth - “I always go with the aim of bringing something back. I go for the three, we have gotten the one a couple of times, but we will be going for three points at Oldham. We know that we can beat teams in this league, but Oldham know that they can beat teams as well. We have got to be very careful.”

Previous Meetings:

Our last visit to Boundary Park came in April 2018, with Steve Lovell in charge of the Gills. It was a game in which the action occurred at the end of both halves.

Oldham took the lead in the closing moments of the opening period. Duckens Nazon received the ball 25 yards from the goal before driving into the penalty area. He held off the pressure from Bradley Garmston and sent a low driven shot into the far corner of the goal.

In the dying moments of the game, Gillingham were given a huge lifeline. The referee awarded the visitors a penalty after an off-the-ball incident, which saw Wilfried Moimbe receive his marching orders in the process. Tom Eaves stepped up to take the spot kick, slotting his attempt into the bottom right corner, just past Johnny Placide, who had guessed the right way.
