The club is delighted to confirm the signing of former Premier League striker Sam Vokes on a one-year deal.
Vokes, 35, reunites with manager Gareth Ainsworth with the pair having previously worked together at Wycombe Wanderers. The centre forward was released at the end of last season following a four-year stint at Adams Park.
Vokes is a former Welsh international, scoring 11 times in 64 appearances for his country, having begun his career in the academy at Southampton before joining Bournemouth.
He made his professional debut for the Cherries in December 2006 in a League One fixture at home to Nottingham Forest. He has three promotions to his name, all of which from the Championship. Two of those were with Burnley.
He scored his first Premier League goal at Turf Moor in August 2006 against Liverpool, a game Burnley won 2-0. On the international stage he represented Wales at Euro 2016, playing four games, and scoring a decisive goal against Belgium in the Quarter-Finals. Jonny Williams was also in that squad.
Sam has also represented Wolves, Leeds, Sheffield United, Stoke City, Norwich and Brighton.
Ironically, the striker scored his first professional goal at MEMS Priestfield Stadium in December 2006.
On completing the deal, Vokes said: "It's great, it's exciting, and I am looking forward to pre-season getting underway.
"I spoke to the manager a few times over the summer, we know each other well. Being right and ready to go on that first game is what it's all about now."
An interview with the player will appear on the website shortly.
