The club would like to pass on its sincere thanks to the team at Snodhurst Car Sales and Service Station for donating a defibrillator which will be situated in our conference and banqueting area with immediate effect.
Snodhurst, the official vehicle supplier for manager Gareth Ainsworth, and our official ticketing sponsor, have provided the defibrillator completely free of charge and this will be placed behind our business reception going forwards.
Joanne Dunn, Hospitality and Events Sales Executive, said: "I am incredibly grateful to Jamie and Jon for their generous donation of a brand new defibrillator for our Events and Conference areas.
"This vital piece of equipment will boost safety and wellbeing of our guests, clients, and team members during all of our events as we grow as a department.
"Their support during British Heart Foundation month [February] following the `Every Minute Matters` campaign highlights a shared commitment to heart health awareness and community care both on and off the pitch here at the club."
Jamie Primett added: "During the British Heart Foundation month, Snodhurst Service Station & Car Sales were delighted to have purchased a new defibrillator from The British Heart Foundation for the conference, hospitality and events department at Gillingham FC.
"According to the foundation, there are more than 40,000 out of hospital cardiac arrests in the UK each year with a survival rate of just 1 in 10. It is proven that access to a defibrillator and using it in such a situation saves lives and improves patient outcomes.
"After speaking to Joanne Dunn at a recent match, and hearing about how passionate her and the hospitality/commercial team were to secure this life-saving equipment for their department within the club, myself and Jon decided that as lifelong supporters and proud sponsors of the club, that we would be absolutely delighted to support Joanne and her team by providing this equipment."
