The club held its annual academy end of season awards event on Friday night inside the Great Hall at MEMS Priestfield Stadium.

Academy Manager, Bryan Bull, hosted the evening with Harry Waldock on duty to present the awards.

Youth Team Manager Scott Wagstaff was in attendance alongside a number of academy coaches and staff including Matt Funnell and Rob Peck.

The respective age group year winners were as follows:

U9 - Lucas Martin

U10 - Teddy Penfold

U11 - Oliver Salter-Akerman

U12 - Albie Hickey

U13 - Luke Straun

U14 - Harry Young

U15 - Connor Russell

U16 - Evan Surrey

Bryan Bull said: “Tremendous work has been done by the players primarily. It’s about resilience and about improving.

“My thanks go to all of the parents and the staff, both here and previously. Parents make a lot of sacrifices and that is not lost on us.”

Harry Waldock said: “Going from scholar to first-team is more ruthless but that’s when you need to have self-belief.

“It’s been a crazy year for me. I went to Cray where I had a really good spell and then I started for us at Cambridge and made six starts in League 2.”

Congratulations to all players who won awards and we would like to place on record our thanks to parents and staff for their ongoing support. Some imagery from the evening can be found here.
