The club was delighted to host the 2026 Foundation Community Cup with the event proving a total success over a two-day period at MEMS Priestfield Stadium last weekend.
Over 50 teams competed across a number of age groups, with a girls tournament also taking place for the first time. The event was attended by over 2000 spectators with all winners and runners-up receiving medals.
This was the second time the Foundation had run the competition with the inaugural tournament taking place in May 2025. Foundation Director, Toby Waters, was delighted with the response the club had and thanked everyone involved for their assistance.
He said: "We expanded the event to over two days, but it has been more than worth it. There are 64 teams across the weekend, all teams can have up to 12 players.
"Every team plays in a group of four and wherever you finish you go into a plate or cup tournament. Our full-time staff have been brilliant, but also a big mention to Medway United who is unbelievably run by good volunteers."
Toby was asked if a similar event will run in 2027.
He said: "I don't think I've got a choice! Parents have already asked! We want to build a relationship with grassroots clubs in the area and this is just the start of doing that."
