Gareth Ainsworth has been named the Sky Bet League 2 Manager of the Month for August.
The Gills boss guided the team to 14 points from their opening six league fixtures to top the table, beating Walsall, Crewe, Chesterfield and Oldham along the way.
Gills drew 1-1 at Accrington on the opening day of the season with Armani Little grabbing the all-important equaliser, with the same result achieved at Tranmere thanks to a late goal from Joe Gbode.
The manager was presented his award on Thursday but was quick to praise his support staff too. He said: "It means a lot to me because it's a team effort and the team have been right there for me. There is no way you can do this on your own.
"The players and the whole team have played a huge part in this so it means we are definitely going in the right direction. We are really proud to receive it."
