Kendall | "I demand a lot from myself"

Sheldon

Sheldon Kendall is excited at the prospect of making his professional league debut as he prepares for life in League Two, having signed for Gillingham on loan from Millwall.

Kendall, who operates as a winger, is looking forward to showing the fans what he can do during his time at Priestfield.

The Millwall loanee knows that League Two will present a different physical test, but is prepared to deal with the challenges it will bring.

On joining the Football Club…

It’s a different experience and a very good club. It’s a nice stadium; the fans will be good, and the Gaffer came with a good approach as well. I’m looking forward to getting started.

What fans can expect from him…

I can play either side. I’m a very direct winger, looking to take people on and go on the outside, and cut inside as well. I’m looking forward to showing the fans what I can do.

I play with freedom, and I am able to express myself on the ball. I am able to vocalise when I would like to receive the ball, and I demand a lot from myself.

On the prospect of making his league debut and the challenges to expect in League Two…

It’s something different. When you’re young, you want to aspire to the highest of things, so being able to possibly do that is exciting for me.

Every game you want to feel like you have been in the game and had that physical battle. League Two will be different, so it’s about adapting my skill set; maybe being a bit more physical and running in behind more to create space for myself. It’s a different challenge, a different change, but I am ready for it.
