Gillingham v Barnet
Sky Bet League Two
MEMS Priestfield Stadium
Saturday November 22, 2025
Kick-Off, 12.30pm
Team News:
Elliott Nevitt will be available for selection, having served his one-match suspension for accumulating five yellow cards.
Conor Masterson and Euan Williams both remain out, as does Glenn Morris, who continues his recovery from a groin injury. Shad Ogie is a doubt.
Armani Little has been given a two-match ban and so will miss Saturday's game, and the one at Shrewsbury.
Barnet’s Rhys Browne is close to returning to fitness, but Saturday will likely come too soon. Joe Kizzi, who featured in a midweek friendly, could be involved. Former Gills Emmanuel Osadebe and Oli Hawkins should feature.
Manager Comments:
Gareth Ainsworth: “It’s going to be a tough game without a doubt. They are coming from just around the corner again, and there is some of the style that we just faced with Crawley. We are going to have to be at it to get anything out of this one as well.”
Connor Smith (Assistant coach): “They are really hard working and industrious. They are so well organised, and it is such a hard place to go. A lot of their games this year have been decided by the odd goal, so they are always in games, and they are always tight games. It shows how tough of a place it is to go. They have picked up some great results there.”
Previous Meetings:
Barnet lead the head-to-head, with eight wins to Gillingham’s six. The fixture has also seen four draws.
The first ever meeting between the two Football Clubs was a six-goal thriller in September 1991 at the MEMS Priestfield Stadium. The game was a back-and-forth affair, with Gillingham opening the scoring after 72 seconds. Barnet could not clear Karl Elsey’s cross, allowing Tony Eeles to capitalise and find the back of the net.
The visitors turned the game on its head when they drew level after 18 minutes through Paul Wilson, before Kenny Lowe put them in front ten minutes later. However, the Barnet lead did not last long, as David Crown equalised on the half-hour. Paul Clark’s free-kick was flicked on by Peter Beadle, finding Crown, who looped a header into the back of the net.
Crown put the Gills back in front 20 minutes into the second half, capping off a fine solo run by shooting past Andy Pape, finding the far corner. Barnet were level once more with ten minutes remaining. The hosts could not clear their lines from a corner, and after the ball bounced around the penalty area, it allowed Garry Bull to smack home from six yards out, as the game ended three apiece.
