Gareth Ainsworth has added a defender to his squad with the capture of Samuel Tabares.
The 19-year-old arrives at MEMS Priestfield Stadium having left Southampton earlier in the summer following a two-year stay at St. Mary's.
Tabares trained with the Gills for a short period earlier in the summer, but has now put pen to paper on a deal ahead of the 2026/27 season.
He has one EFL Trophy appearance to his name, that coming for Fulham U21's against Shrewsbury in August 2024.
Sam could make his Gills debut this coming Friday.
Speaking to the club website he said: "I feel like I have known the boys for ages already, and it's only been a couple of days.
"The overall vibe made me really want to sign here. The Gaffer made it quite an easy decision for me."
