Ethan Coleman believed that Gillingham were the better side in Saturday's 0-0 draw against Colchester United, but felt a point against strong opposition was a positive outcome.
The midfielder was pleased with how the Gills took control of the game in the second-half, creating several chances in the process, especially with the run of results Colchester had coming into the fixture.
Armani Little returned to the Gills starting XI, which pleased Coleman, who partnered him in the midfield.
The 25-year-old discussed the support the team received on the day and his thoughts on playing over the festive period.
Thoughts on the result...
I think that it was a really positive performance. I think that we were on top of them, especially in the second-half. We came out of the blocks well and had many chances and shots on goal.
They had won the last three games and are on a good run of form, and I think that we have done well today. It was a positive result, especially being away from home. Hopefully, we can back it up next week.
We had a lot of shots in the second-half and dominated them. Az's [Aaron Rowe] one in the first-half that was cleared off the line which was a very good opportunity. We were all over them, I thought.
Playing alongside the returning Armani Little.
It's important. I like Litts and like playing alongside him. He rats about in there and then gets on the ball as well. It's enjoyable to have him next to you, and he demands from players, and he demands from you. He is good.
The support the players have...
It's good that all of the boys came along to the game to support us and all of the fans as well. I think there were over 800 today, and they did brilliantly, cheering us on all the way, especially in the second-half when attacking their end.
Playing over the Christmas period...
I love it! Loads of games are coming along thick and fast. As a team, we enjoy that, and we really want to push on now. This is the time of year to really push on and put a run together. That's five on the bounce now, where we haven't lost, so we are putting them together. We want a few wins on that.
