Elliott Nevitt has signed for Cambridge United on loan until the end of the season.
The 29-year-old striker signed for the Gills in the summer of 2024 and during his time at MEMS Priestfield Stadium has scored eight goals in 61 appearances.
Prior to that he had featured 73 times for Crewe Alexandra across a two-year spell, netting 18 goals. He has also played for Tranmere Rovers and AFC Liverpool. He was part of the Warrington Rylands 1906 side that won the FA Vase in 2021.
Nevitt reunites with Mark Bonner who is now the Director of Football at the Abbey Stadium. Former Gills boss Neil Harris is their manager. The teams drew 1-1 at ME7 on Boxing Day.
Nev could make his United debut in League 2 this Saturday at home against his former club, Tranmere.
