Team News:

Shad Ogie remains out due to a knee injury, but Andy Smith could be available, as he continues to work his way back into contention following a broken nose. Harry Waldock should be involved again, having come on as a substitute in the defeat to Grimsby.

Robbie McKenzie is pushing to be involved after missing last weekend due to a knock.

Kabongo Tshimanga should lead the line for Barnet as he looks to continue his fine run of form after scoring a brace in their 2-1 win at Notts County. Callum Stead and Ryan Glover are likely to provide support in attack.

Danny Collinge is back available for The Bees, having missed their previous three league fixtures.

Manager Comments:

Connor Smith (Assistant Manager): “We’re hoping that it isn’t our last [home] game if everything can go well for us the next two games. That would be nice.

“In terms of the regular league campaign, we want to get as many fans down as we can. We had a brilliant following, again, at Notts County away, which we have had so many times in away games. It does help the lads, even in a place where it is as busy as what Meadow Lane was last week.

“We have something to play for, so it is a massive, massive game for us to keep the pressure on the other teams. We are going to need everyone to come through the doors.”

Gareth Ainsworth: “They have changed a lot, formation-wise, this season. They are the team that has changed the most out of any team with their formations. They have multi-positional players, which is really key at this level.

“Dean Brennan has done a fantastic job. You have to give him loads of respect, because of making his step up from the non-leagues into the league. He has done a really good job, and has some cracking players.”

Previous Meetings:

Saturday will be the 21st meeting between the two teams, with Barnet leading the head-to-head narrowly with eight wins to Gillingham’s seven. The fixture has ended all square on five occasions.

Our last visit to Barnet, which was at Underhill, saw the Gills come out victorious, with all of the action coming in the first-half. Jack Payne opened the scoring after ten minutes, as his low drive from around 20 yards out found the bottom left corner, leaving Graham Stack rooted to his spot.

It took less than a minute for Danny Kedwell to double the Gillingham advantage. Charlie Allen had the ball on the right side of the penalty area before curling a cross towards the six-yard box. It was met by an unmarked Kedwell, who thumped a header home. Jack Saville pulled a goal back for the hosts in the 23rd minute when he headed home from a corner.

However, Deon Burton restored Gillingham’s two-goal lead 16 minutes later. A long throw into the Barnet penalty area was flicked on into Burton’s path, who outjumped his marker to angle a smart header into the left corner of the net.
