Gillingham v Bromley

Sky Bet League Two

MEMS Priestfield Stadium

Saturday January 31, 2026

Kick-Off, 3pm

Team News:

Ronan Hale could potentially be in line to make his Gillingham debut, having signed for the Football Club on Thursday from Ross County. However, his inclusion will depend on whether international clearance is obtained.

Cameron Antwi could also make his debut, having joined from Newport County last Friday.

Jonny Smith is set to miss some time after suffering a lower leg injury in the first half of the 3-0 win at Harrogate. Nelson Khumbeni is unavailable as he continues his recovery from a dislocated shoulder. Glenn Morris received a knock in the closing stages last week but should be fine to play in goal.

Ethan Coleman is unlikely to feature due to injury.

Bromley could hand former Gills loanee Zech Medley his debut after the defender signed on loan from Fleetwood Town. Another former Gill in Ben Thompson will be pushing for a start, having scored in Bromley’s 2-2 draw against Crewe in midweek.

Carl Jenkinson should be involved, having made his return to match action against Crewe following a long lay-off.

Manager Comments:

Gareth Ainsworth - “First of all, well done to Bromley. They are right up there and at the top of the league for a reason. They have done brilliantly this season. I bet that not a lot of people saw that coming, so Woody [Andy Woodman] has done a brilliant job.

“I went to watch them the other night, and they are very strong, very good, and very physical. They have some good players as well.”

Andy Woodman- “We have got to go down there and make sure that we are rock solid and that we are a difficult outfit. First and foremost, to beat, and then to go on the front foot and take care of our business.”

Previous Meetings:

Bromley leads the head-to-head, with two wins to Gillingham’s one. The fixture has also seen one draw, which came earlier this season at Hayes Lane in front of the Sky Sports cameras.

Saturday’s visitors raced into an early two-goal lead through a smart Nicke Kabamba finish after seven minutes, then Michael Cheek’s header five minutes later doubled their tally.

Josh Andrews pulled a goal back for the Gills ten minutes after half-time, as he got on the end of Remeao Hutton’s long throw into the six-yard box, flicking it into the far corner of the net.

The score remained the same until the dying seconds of added time, when Gillingham were awarded a penalty. After a delay due to an injury, Max Clark kept his composure, slamming his spot kick down the middle to ensure Gareth Ainsworth’s side returned to ME7 with a point.
