Travis Akomeah has rejoined the Gills on loan from Watford until the end of the season.
The centre-back, 20, played eight times for the Gills earlier in the campaign during his first loan spell, making his first league start on December 6 away to Colchester United. His last appearance came against Fleetwood at Highbury on December 20.
He will be available for selection for this Saturday's league game at Harrogate.
On extending his loan deal, Travis said: "I am very happy to continue my spell; I really enjoyed the first half of the season so I am now looking forward.
"We have a great group of boys, good coaching staff and I really like the vibe in the changing room - there is a good team spirit."
